Kenny Wallace, the youngest of the trio of Wallace brothers behind Rusty and Mike, is known for both his abilities in the car and his abilities with words – Wallace competes in NASCAR’s top series as well as on dirt, and is a popular personality on SPEED Channel. Here are a few fast facts on the driver nicknamed “Herman.”

  • Kenneth Wallace was born August 23, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri, the youngest son of Russ and Judy Wallace. Like his father and brothers, he got involved with auto racing at an early age, working as a mechanic on the family’s race cars before getting the itch to drive. He entered his first race in 1982 and won the event. He continued to work as a mechanic until getting an American Speed Association (ASA) ride in 1986, winning rookie of the year in that series.
  • After making his first Busch Series (now Nationwide Series) start in September 1988, Wallace raced for brother Rusty’s Busch Series team in 1989, winning rookie of the year and finishing sixth in points. He made his first Cup Series start in 1990, and in 1991 raced against Mike and Rusty at Phoenix, the first time since the Flocks in the 1950s that three brothers competed in a Cup Series race.
  • Wallace has competed in all three of NASCAR’s top-tier series, with 344 starts in the Cup Series (27 top 10s and three poles), 536 starts in the Nationwide Series (nine wins, 173 top 10s and 10 poles) and 11 starts in the Camping World Truck Series (four top 10s). Wallace also races in numerous dirt track races throughout the country, and was the 2005 winner of the Prelude to the Dream, the all-star charity race at Eldora Speedway.
  • Wallace is a popular on-air personality on SPEED Channel as a host on NASCAR Race Day and NASCAR Victory Lane. Wallace and his wife Kim have three daughters, Brooke, Brandy and Brittany.
