Brett Moffitt and Daniel Hemric Ink Xfinity Deals for 2021

Brett Moffitt and Daniel Hemric secured rides for the 2021 NASCAR season. Moffitt will return to Our Motorsports for a full-time effort, after running 29 races with the organization this year. Hemric will join Joe Gibbs Racing’s Xfinity program after a limited schedule with JR Motorsports. 

Moffitt earned one top-five finish and seven top-10 finishes for Our Motorsports. He ran a full Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series schedule, where he placed third in the series playoffs. He will not return to GMS Racing in the series next season. 

“2020 was a learning year for the entire Our Motorsports operation and the program is now ready to step up to another level,” Moffitt said in a team release.

Hemric will pilot the No. 18 Toyota full-time for JGR in 2021, where he hopes to earn his first NASCAR career victory and compete for the series championship.

The 29-year-old will complete the three-car stable, alongside Harrison Burton and Brandon Jones. Hemric replaces Riley Herbst, who earned four top-five and 17 top-10 finishes. Herbst made the series playoffs, but was eliminated after the first round. 

“It’s been quite a roller coaster ride for me over the last few years, but I can’t say how thankful I am for the opportunity to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing,” Hemric said in a release. “Their reputation speaks for itself.”

Hemric ran two full-time seasons, in 2017 and 2018, with Richard Childress Racing before moving to Cup for the organization the following year. He ran 21 races for JR Motorsports in 2020, earning 12 top-10 finishes. 

“I know they have high expectations for me, as I do as well, and I could not be more excited to chase the Xfinity Series championship with them next season.”
