Amy joined the Skirts and Scuffs team in Sept. 2015 as a contributor. She has been a NASCAR fan since she was a little girl, watching races with her dad on hot Sunday afternoons. Born in Southern California, Amy has lived in all US time zones but Alaska, thanks to the military and a dash of wanderlust. She currently lives in Tulsa, OK, and considers Texas Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway her home tracks.
Although she’s been an avid NASCAR fan for years, her first race in person wasn’t until the April 2015 race at TMS. “I had the time of my life. I was lucky enough to have hot passes. The feel, scents and sound of the engines, the insanely busy garage during practice, meeting a few drivers and watching the race from the pits was the most fun I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go to another race,” she said.
Amy is a project manager for a major telecommunications company, but NASCAR is her first love. “I live and breathe NASCAR 10 months a year,” she said. She was an English major at Missouri State University, worked as an assistant editor and writer for two local newspapers for several years, and is a moderator for a large online NASCAR community. She has a NASCAR blog (www.daytonadame.com), and her other interests include reading, video games, British TV and cheering for the Denver Broncos.
