Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration to be Showcased on RCR #33 @ Auto Club Speedway

WELCOME, N.C. (March 23, 2011) - The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation's Centennial Celebration and the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma will be the primary sponsors of Richard Childress Racing's No. 33 Chevrolet Impala that Clint Bowyer will drive in the March 27 Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.  

The Ronald Reagan Centennial is a historic, year-long celebration to commemorate the 100^th birthday of the 40^th President of the United States of America. A series of substantive and celebratory events, partnerships and initiatives sponsored by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation are planned throughout 2011.  

Future announcements including a second phase of RCR's involvement with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Mike Curb will be forthcoming.

"It's a great honor for RCR, and for me personally, to be involved with the Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration through our No. 33 Chevrolet NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. As President, Ronald Reagan started the 1984 Firecracker 400 at Daytona where he gave the command, "Gentlemen, start your engines!" from aboard Air Force One. Later that day, Air Force One landed at Daytona International Airport behind the speedway in full view of the fans. That day, Richard Petty captured his historic 200^th victory in a car owned by Mike Curb.
