After Martin Truex Jr. had more pit road miscues during the Richmond race, including a loose wheel and a missing lugnut, Truex threatened his team during Saturday night's race that he would fire them all. Today it was announced that changes have been made over at Michael Waltrip Racing.

New faces will be seen sporting the NAPA firesuits for the No. 56 team this weekend at Darlington. Joining veteran team members Brian Chase (jackman) and Doug Newell (gas man) will be Eric Maycroft (front tire changer), Ricky Coleman (front tire carrier), Daniel Rankin (rear tire changer) and Jake Brzozowski (rear tire carrier).

Steve Hallam, MWR's executive vice president and director of competition, said the changes were necessary to capitalize on what he says is "significant improvement in the overall performance" of the No. 56 car.

Hallam continued by saying, "With our impressive speed comes the added pressure of the entire team to perform. As a result, the No. 56 has experienced several challenges on pit road and we feel the need to intervene and give some of our key athletes time to regroup. The team will have new tire carriers and changers beginning at Darlington this weekend. Three of those four athletes we’ve added come from our Nationwide program. Our organization is fortunate to have the flexibility and depth of experienced crew members to make adjustments from time to time that benefit everyone involved.”
