DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.  - Tickets to NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race – the 54th annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26 – will go on sale Saturday, May 14 at 9 a.m. (ET). Prior to Saturday, May 14, only renewals for the 2012 Daytona 500 were accepted by the ticket office.

The Speedway is also introducing a new feature for the 54th Daytona 500 - special youth pricing.  Children 12 and under will receive 50 percent off all Superstretch grandstand seats for the Daytona 500.  The special offer expires Feb. 1.

“The Daytona 500 is an extraordinary sporting event that every race fan must experience in person,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said. “The new racing surface resulted in record-breaking action in the 2011 Daytona 500 including 74 lead changes among 22 different leaders and one of the most historic finishes in racing.  We encourage our race fans to make their plans early to secure the best seats for what will surely be another unforgettable ‘Great American Race.’ ”

In addition to the youth pricing, the Speedway is offering new camping packages and amenities during Speedweeks 2012.  Two-day camping options are now available in the GEICO Grounds Horseshoe for only $599 and GEICO Caveman Tent Campground for $399.  Guests can now choose from 10-day premium sites, five-day standard sites or our new two-day campsites entering on Saturday, February 25 at 6 a.m.

Cable and electric hook-ups have been added to the first row of GEICO Grounds Yellow RV sites 1-89 and race fans can enjoy the convenience of expanded drive in/out privileges for even more races including the Budweiser Shootout and Daytona 500 Qualifying Presented By Kroger.

In addition to the 54th annual Daytona 500, tickets for all Speedweeks 2012 events will be available for purchase including the NASCAR Nationwide Series 300, the NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, the Gatorade Duel, the Budweiser Shootout and Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 doubleheader, Daytona 500 Qualifying Presented By Kroger and the historic 50th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
