NASCAR stays close to home as its annual All-Star Week gets under way in Charlotte, N.C., the heart of NASCAR. It's a week set side to celebrate the sport and the fans who have helped make it what it is today.

Several events are planned for All-Star Week, including the Sprint Pit Crew Challenge on Thursday and the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony of the second class on Monday. The NASCAR Hall of Fame will open its new exhibit honoring the second class of inductees on Tuesday, and the race shops will hold special events for fans throughout the week.

As for the racing itself, the Camping World Truck Series gets back on track Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. The main event is the All-Star Race on Saturday night, a non-points, no-holds-barred event where the winner gets a cool $1 million and bragging rights. The race features Sprint Cup winners from last year and this season, as well as winners of the past 10 All-Star races, the winner of the Sprint Open qualifying race and the winner of the Sprint Fan Vote.

All of these events lead up to one of the premier events in the sport, the Coca-Cola 600, next Sunday, May 29.

The Nationwide Series is running this weekend at Iowa Speedway, a rare Sunday race and standalone event. This is the first year Iowa has two race weekends on the Nationwide schedule (the second is Aug. 6).

The following are last year's race winners (if your last name is Busch, history shows you've got a good shot to win this weekend):

SPRINT CUP - CHARLOTTE
All-Star Race - Kurt Busch

TRUCK SERIES - CHARLOTTE
Kyle Busch

NATIONWIDE - IOWA
