Today is Father’s Day and who else should we watch for but the fathers in NASCAR. Last season, the NASCAR garage was hit with a baby boom, let’s take a moment to acknowledge those dads because it is possible that one of these men will celebrate Father’s Day in victory lane.

Jimmie Johnson’s little girl, Genevieve, was born last July and that certainly didn’t stop Johnson from racing his self to a fifth consecutive Championship. Johnson only has one win this season but he’s still second in points, trailing only six points behind leader Carl Edwards.

The 2011 All Star Carl Edwards is a proud father of two, daughter Annie and son Michael. He is the current points leader in the Cup series with two wins and has five victories in the Nationwide series, including yesterday’s race, the Alliance Truck Parts 250 it’s possible he sweeps the weekend series. This year, Ford and the Roush team has dominated the race track in both the Cup and Nationwide series. The possibility of Edwards staying on top of the leader board until Homestead is realistic, he did win the last race of the season after all.

Matt Kenseth is starting the weekend in second row in position three. This season, as all other Ford cars, Kenseth has held consecutive top spots including two Cup wins at Texas and Dover and the Top Gear 300 in Charlotte, his first race in Nationwide; which he raced only to support and replace Trevor Bayne as he rested for a final weekend to ensure he didn’t relapse. Currently, Kenseth is seventh in season points.

Ryan Newman is starting in 13th spot today and his season is looking promising, even without a win, he's 10th in points and consistent top finishes for him could lock him in to the Chase this fall. Today Newman recognizes the US Army's Birthday and has Bud Moore, a US Veteran and a member of NASCAR's Hall of Fame riding along on his car.

Jeff Gordon has won two races this season but he’s not locked in to the Chase as of yet, he could get the new wild card spot Last year, Gordon’s second child, Leo was born; his daughter Ella has become an infamous little lady in racing. Last season she designed Papa’s Car, a special paint scheme and recognition for the Children’s Hospital, where Gordon funded a special Children’s unit for abused and ill children.

Jamie McMurray driver of the No. 1 will be starting in 14th position today and he's awaiting his first victory of the season, he currently sits 29th in points. McMurray is the 2010 Dayton 500 winner.

Other dads we would like to wish a Happy Father's Day to are:

Jeff Burton
Bobby Labonte
Mark Martin
Juan Pablo Montoya
JJ Yeley
David Reutimann

On behalf of the Skirts and Scuffs team, a Happy Father's Day to all dad's!
