Just two days after the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 race weekend, a crew from Ajax Paving Industries of Troy, Mich., is hard at work with the first phase of Michigan International Speedway’s repave.

Phase One includes repaving pit road, which will be completed in July, in time for the August 19-21 Pure Michigan 400 race weekend. The milling process will go nine inches deep before new asphalt is laid down on pit road.

The repave of the track’s 2-mile oval will begin shortly after the Pure Michigan 400.
