Get ready for some left-and-right action: this weekend, the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series abandon ovals for the first time this season for something a little more twisted: road courses.

The Sprint Cup Series makes its annual stop at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., in the heart of wine country. Infineon is the first of two road courses on the Cup schedule (the second is Watkins Glen). The 1.99-mile course has 12 turns, including the hairpin (turn 11). The sudden twists, turns and elevation changes provide a welcome challenge for drivers during the 350-kilometer event.

The last four drivers to win at Infineon earned their first series road course win. Will we see the trend continue on Sunday? After letting last year's race slip through his fingers, will Marcos Ambrose find victory at Infineon?

The Nationwide Series heads to the Midwest to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. The series made its debut at Road America last year, and the race was deemed a success. The road course is 4 miles long with 14 turns. It's one of three road course races on the Nationwide schedule (the others are Watkins Glen and Montreal).

If we can expect to hear "hairpin" at Infineon, then get ready to hear about "the kink" at Road America. The kink refers to turn 11, located toward the back of the course and one of the track's best known features.

Here's last year's race winners:

SPRINT CUP - Infineon
Jimmie Johnson

NATIONWIDE - Road America
Carl Edwards
