Drivers to watch for in today's New England 200 Nationwide race

The Nationwide Series is racing at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway "Magic Mile" today at 3:30 PM and will be aired on ESPN.

The drivers looking to claim some magic today are:

Brian Scott is starting today’s race in the fifth row ninth position; this is his strongest qualifying run to date and he’s looking to overcome his bad luck as of late.

Scott is piloting the Shore Lodge Toyota Camry car No. 11 for Joe Gibbs racing full time this season. He’s currently 10th in points.

Aric Almirola is surrounded by Cup drivers and starting today in fourth position, his first race in a Nationwide car at Loudon. Although consistent and sitting in sixth position. Almirola is looking for his first win of the season.

Trevor Bayne is racing the NESN Ford. NESN stands for New England Sports Network which airs Boston Red Sox and New England sports; he’s sporting a Red Sox and Bruins logo on his car. Bayne may have won the Daytona 500 in February but he’s yet to win a Nationwide race this season. With his unfortunate time off due to illness, he’s sitting 13th in points for the season.

Teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is also sporting a baseball theme, Fenway Park 100 years with the red stitched strip resembling a baseball across the body and also displays the NESN and Red Sox logos. The Roush Fenway team is celebrating Fenway Park’s 100 year anniversary. (Roush Fenway Racing is co-owned by John Henry, who owns the Red Sox team) Stenhouse Jr. starts in 14th position today and is third in points so far this season.

Justin Allgaier is driving the Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet No. 31 this weekend and starts in 8th position. Allgaier is the second Nationwide regular to win a Nationwide race this season and after a fluke mishap of running out of gas while running in first on the last lap at Road America, he’s looking to win for the second time this season in hopes to move up from his 4th points position in season points.
