Newest Racing Movie Being Filmed at Iowa Speedway TONIGHT

Fans who attend tonight’s Prairie Meadows 200 ARCA Racing Series events may play a part in the newest racing movie. The untitled film, starring Zac Efron as an aspiring racecar driver and Dennis Quaid as his unsupportive father, will have footage from tonight’s race, with shots of Efron’s character walking across the pre-race stage, footage of the grandstands, and shots of the racing action. 100 randomly selected online ticket buyers will have the opportunity to be a part of the pre-race festivities and have a role in the movie as spectators!

Tonight’s race is scheduled to start around 4:15 p.m. CT. Ramin Bahrani is the director of the movie, and Iowa Speedway President Jerry Jauron says the speedway is “very excited that Mr. Bahrani chose Iowa Speedway as the set for his movie.”

Efron will reportedly walk across the driver intros stage after the name of his character is called, strap into one of the cars, and get out before the race begins so the car’s main driver can compete.

Quaid will be filmed cheering on his “son” from the grandstands.
