Lauren Briant to perform national anthem at truck race at Pocono

Country singer will also perform free concert in infield Saturday, Aug. 6, followed by fireworks

Long Pond, PA (August 1, 2011) ― Country recording artist, Lauren Briant, will sing the National Anthem prior to the Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service 125, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Pocono Raceway on Saturday, Aug. 6. Later that evening (7 PM-9:30 PM) she will perform a free concert in the Pocono Raceway infield for infield and RV guests. A fireworks display will follow the concert.

“Rebellious,” “playful,” and “colorful” have all been used to describe country music’s hot new female artist, Lauren Briant. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, she grew up on the vivid lyrics and instrumentation rooted in country songs.

She was discovered by famed producer Shannon Houchins (TLC, Usher, Outkast). Lauren immediately went to work in Nashville with Houchins at the helm, writing and recording her first album alongside Nashville notables Noah Gordon (Tim McGraw, Craig Morgan, John Michael Montgomery, Emerson Drive), Philip Douglas (Lonestar, Tracy Lawrence, Billy Ray Cyrus), Dan Murph (Randy Travis, Bucky Covington), as well as country artist Colt Ford (collaborations include Jamey Johnson, John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry).

Briant, who signed with Average Joe’s Entertainment record label, recently finished recording her debut self-titled album, “Lauren Briant,” at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, TN.

Saturday, Aug. 6, will be filled with exciting racing starting with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series qualifying at 9:35 AM followed by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Weis Markets qualifying at 10:40 AM. Pre-race activities for the Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service 125 begin at 12:30 PM with the green flag scheduled for 1 PM. The Pennsylvania 125, ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race will immediately follow the truck series race. The Lauren Briant infield concert and a fireworks display will conclude a day of exciting, action packed events.

Pre-race activities for the Good Sam RV Insurance 500, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race begin at 11:00 AM on Sunday August 7. Driver introduction is set for 12:30 PM leading up to the scheduled 1:00 PM start of the Good Sam RV Insurance 500.
