August 21, 2010: Kyle Busch becomes the first driver in NASCAR history to win all three races in the same weekend. His win on Saturday gives him nine career wins at Bristol--four in Cup, two in Nationwide, and three in the Truck series.

August 22nd, 1969: Richard Petty takes his Ford to the win at Bowman Gray Stadium. It is Petty's 100th career Cup Series victory.

August 24, 2002: Jeff Gordon nudges his way past Rusty Wallace with three laps to go and ends a 31-race losing streak with a triumph in the Sharpie 500 at Bristol. Fifteen caution flags dot the crash-marred contest.

August 25, 1990: Ernie Irvan passes Dale Earnhardt in the final 50 miles and speeds to his first NASCAR Winston Cup victory in Bristol’s Busch 500.

August 26, 1995: Terry Labonte slides across the finish line just ahead of Dale Earnhardt to win the Goody’s 500 at Bristol. Earnhardt slaps Labonte sideways on the final lap in a bid for the win. Labonte’s Chevy crashes into the concrete barrier just after taking the checkered flag.

August 27, 1988: Dale Earnhardt holds off Bill Elliott to win the Busch 500 at Bristol. Elliott takes a 16-point lead over Rusty Wallace in the championship chase.
