Who is Maryeve Dufault?

The headlines this weekend are numerous regarding that fact that Maryeve Dufault is making her NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Montreal; included are “Former Price is Right Model to Make NASCAR Debut,” but that is simply not a just characterization of Dufault.

Yes, Dufault is credited with one appearance on the game show The Price is Right as a model, but her racing career holds much more merit than that. Living in California, the 29-year-old Dufault does modeling and stunt work when she's not behind the wheel of a race car. Her on-screen credits include a brief stint as co-host for a 2006 TV series called Racin' For A Livin', which lasted for just one episode.

Dufault will make her NNS debut in the No. 81 car for Pat MacDonald, which is normally driven by Rookie of the Year contender Blake Koch. The No. 81 car is locked in the top 30 in owner points, so Dufault is guaranteed a starting spot in Saturday's NAPA Auto Parts 200.

Dufault is not new to racing. A native of Sorel, Canada, she started racing motocross as a teenager, advanced to go-karts and open-wheel cars and made the transition to stock cars in 2010. Dufault started her stockcar move by running two NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races, highlighted by a 26th place finish in Montreal. Since that time, she has been dedicated to racing the ARCA series, competing in 12 of the 13 races this year for Tony Marks Racing. With a season-best finish of 10th place at Chicagoland Speedway, Dufault has shown that she is a talent both on and off the track as well.

When Dufault takes the green flag on Saturday, she will become only the second Canadian woman to ever compete in a NASCAR race in one of NASCAR’s top series, following in the footsteps of Kat Teasdale. This alone is an accomplishment itself for both women.
