Harvick Comes Out on Top in Initial Practice for NCWTS




The No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet posted the fastest time in opening practice for the NCWTS at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). Kevin Harvick posted a time of 28.988 seconds at a speed of 131.392 mph after laying down 43 laps.

Rounding out the rest of the top 5 in the first practice are Brendan Gaughan, Jason White, Miguel Paludo and Austin Dillon. Gaughan posted a lap time of 29.183 seconds, White (29.332), Paludo (29.344) and Dillon (29.384).

The top 5 in the driver standings posted lap times as follows: James Buescher (29.439) was eighth fastest, Dillon (29.384) was fifth fastest, Johnny Sauter (29.510) was ninth fastest, Timothy Peters (29.681) was 18th fastest and Hornaday (29.426) was seventh fastest.

Hornaday, who is currently fifth in points, posted the seventh-fastest lap time in initial practice. The driver of the No. 33 Cooked Perfect Meatballs Chevrolet for KHI is hoping for his 50th win in the NCWTS and possibly his final win with KHI.

Final practice for Saturday’s F.W. Webb 175 will take place at 1:15 p.m. ET.
