Rain Delay at Chicagoland in First Chase Race

When Carl Edwards finds his way into the announcers booth when he's supposed to be racing, you know either he got wrecked early or the race is under rain delay. Since the race hasn't started yet, that leaves rain, again.

The first race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship finds the Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., the latest in the list of races affected by weather this season. NASCAR fans may feel like they're more acquainted with the track jet dryers than they are with the teams this season.

The radar looks ominous, but NASCAR's Mike Helton held out hope during his latest interview on ESPN, saying that NASCAR's been trying to keep up with the moisture on the track and stating that it takes about two hours to dry the 1.5-mile speedway. Since the track does in fact have lights, they do hope to get the race in today.
