Dancing with the Drivers; Stenhouse Jr., Bayne ‘Get Down’ at Roush Fenway TweetUp

Viral video to air on World’s Largest HD Video Board at Charlotte Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2011) – Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne are undeniably two of NASCAR’s hottest young stars, and Thursday at the Roush Fenway Fan ‘TweetUp’ the duo took their RickyvsTrevor competition to new heights. While Stenhouse may very well be on his way to the 2011 Nationwide Championship and Bayne shocked the world with his now famous Daytona 500 win earlier this season, the two might have turned in the performance of the year in a video game dance-off in front of over 120 fans at Roush Fenway’s Annual Fan Day (http://youtu.be/q3m1bAxfw8Y).

“I can tell you that is the first time I have ever done anything like that,” said Stenhouse fresh off the ‘victory’. “I’m out of breath.”

While almost 4,000 drivers have competed over the years in NASCAR’s three major divisions, it is unlikely any ever exhibited the type of raw determination and savvy dance moves put on by Stenhouse and Bayne to the 80’s classic ‘It’s Raining Men’ (audience picked!)  in Thursday’s performance. The 2011 Daytona 500 winner ‘held his own,’ but it was the Mississippi native Stenhouse that stole the show and took the RickyvsTrevor challenge.

“I thought I saved my tires and I was coming for him at the end,” laughed Bayne. “But he got me on the last lap there - wow.”

Not since John Travolta filmed “Urban Cowboy” in the early 80’s has the world seen such movement out of pair of cowboy boots and a large shiny belt buckle.

The video is available at www.rickyvstrevor.com. There are also several viral versions of the video being distributed via fans and media in attendance all across the internet and via various social network channels.

In addition the video will air on the world’s largest HD video board at Charlotte Motor Speedway (80’ x 200’) on Friday, truly making the performance larger the life. The HD video board features 158 panels, boasts a whopping nine million LED lamps and broadcasts in brilliant 1080i clarity.

Stenhouse Jr. and Bayne will return to their ‘day jobs’ this afternoon when they take the track for the Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. With four races remaining in the 2011 season, Stenhouse leads the Nationwide Series’ point standings by 20.
