Hall of Famer and Driver Appearances, Post-Race Music All Part of Bank of America 500 Week


CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 7, 2010) – Charlotte Motor Speedway continues to gear up for Bank of America 500 Week, Oct. 12-15, with the addition of Hall of Famer and current NASCAR driver appearances, race ticket savings from Food Lion and Bojangles’ and lots of post-race music and fan fun. Below is a listing of some of the fan activities taking place and ticket deals being offered for Bank of America 500 Week.

Fans Can Fight Hunger, Save on Race Tickets with Food Lion 
Charlotte Motor Speedway and Speedway Children’s Charities are partnering with Food Lion to fight hunger and help fans save on Bank of America 500 Week tickets. Customers who purchase a “Hunger Has a Cure” food box at an area Food Lion will receive $10 off a ticket to the Oct. 14 Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage or the Oct.15 Bank of America 500. Food boxes are $4.99 and include tuna, green beans, cereal, macaroni and cheese, long grain white rice and chicken noodle soup. To receive $10 off a race ticket, fans may take their specially-marked Food Lion receipt showing a Hunger Has a Cure food box purchase to the ticket office at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  Boxes may be purchased through Oct. 15 to receive the discount. Limit one $10 race ticket discount per Hunger Has a Cure food box.

Get Two Free Bojangles’ Pole Night Tickets with Tailgate Special
NASCAR and Bojangles’ fans can visit any Bojangles’ store in the Charlotte, Greensboro, and Asheville areas of North Carolina or the Greenville/Spartanburg area of South Carolina to pick up a voucher for two free tickets to Bojangles’ Pole Night, Oct. 13, with the purchase of any 12, 16 or 20 piece Tailgate Special. The Tailgate Specials are served in the new Bojangles’ Big Bo Box and includes Bojangles’ world-famous chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits, fixin’s and Bojangles’ Legendary Iced Tea,  plus cups, napkins, sporks and plates. Each fan that picks up the free Bojangles’ Pole Night tickets from Bojangles’ will also be entered to win tickets to the Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage on Oct. 14 and Bank of America 500 on Oct. 15.


PRN Fast Talk to Feature Kasey Kahne Live from The Speedway Club
The Performance Racing Network will host a special edition of "Fast Talk" live from The Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Monday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.  Doug Rice, president and general manager of PRN, will be joined by special guest Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 4 Red Bull Toyota. "Fast Talk" listeners can call in during the show to 1 (800) 771-TALK (8255) between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. EST to ask a question live on air. Speedway Club to Host NASCAR Hall of Famers, Media Chats, Live Broadcasts, More 
The Speedway Club will offer fans a wide range of special events during Bank of America 500 Week, Oct. 12-15. NASCAR Hall of Famers Bobby Allison and Ned Jarrett will be in the Speedway Club before the Bank of America 500 on Oct. 15 for Q-and-A sessions. NASCAR driver David Ragan will be on hand to meet fans on Oct. 12, during the OktoberFast Happy Hour. On Oct. 14, fans can enjoy live broadcasts with ESPN Radio and “Fox News Edge” radio and news programs. Race analyst Larry McReynolds and two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Randy LaJoie will host a media chat on Oct. 15. Book signings, music, DJ entertainment, art galleries and moonshine tastings round out the week’s events. The Speedway Club will be open for lunch and dinner each day during Bank of America 500 Week, featuring the popular All-You-Can-Eat Surf & Turf Special on Tuesday night, Oct. 11. Live Music After the Races and Qualifying Keeps the Fun Going 
Just because the checkered-flag flies, it doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Following Bojangles’ Pole Night on Thursday, Oct. 13, fans can enjoy a performance by Trial by Fire, a Journey cover band.  After the Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage on Friday, Oct. 14, Tuesday’s Gone, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, will perform. On Saturday, Oct. 15 following the Bank of America 500, Shoot to Thrill, an all-female AC/DC tribute band, will entertain fans. All three concerts are free to attend and will be located in the Budweiser Block Party area, located outside of Turns 1 and 2 near Morehead Road.

Smoke-Free Seating Areas Now Available on the Frontstretch
Fans looking for a smoke-free seating option during Bank of America 500 Week can find it with Charlotte Motor Speedway’s new smoke-free seating sections. Located on the frontstretch, with the best views of the world’s largest HDTV, seats located in Ford sections AA – G on the lower level and AA – H on the upper level, as well as the New Veranda, Club Deck and Upper Terrace sections, are now smoke-free.

Scanners, FanViews Available for Rent to Enhance Race Experience 
Fans can add more fun to race day with a FanView or scanner. The FanView is the ultimate race day companion, giving fans pre-set in-car audio channels and audio replays on demand, as well as real-time race and driver statistics. A Racing Electronics scanner lets fans listen to their favorite drivers and crews communicate, and even the Performance Racing Network broadcast, during the race. FanViews and Racing Electronics scanners can be rented by going online to www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or in the ticket office during Bank of America 500 Week, Oct. 12-15.

Charlotte Joins NASCAR’s Clean Air Tree Planting Program
Charlotte Motor Speedway has become a part of NASCAR’s Clean Air Tree Planting Program, through which NASCAR donates 10 trees for every green flag that starts or restarts a designated race. For example, if eight green flags are thrown during the Bank of America 500 on Oct. 15, 80 trees will be planted within the Charlotte area. Speedway Children’s Charities is coordinating with several local organizations who will receive the trees, including Thompson Child & Family Focus; YMCA Camp Thunderbird; Central North Carolina Council, Boy Scouts of America; Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center; Communities in Schools of Rowan County; Inclusion Based After School Enrichment Program for Children with Autism; Siskey YMCA; McCrorey YMCA; In Reach NC, Barium Springs Home For Children and Lancaster Children's Home.

Fans Can Capture The Race Experience with Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Photos 
Fans can commemorate their visit to the Mecca of Motorsports during Bank of America 500 Week with a Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Photo. Speedway photographers will take fan photos throughout the week, which will be uploaded to an online gallery. Fans can then visit the Charlotte Motor Speedway Photo Store to choose from a variety of photo border templates and products to help them remember their race experience.
