Penalties expected for Waltrip and JTG Daugherty Teams

NASCAR has confiscated the windshields of three teams - the No. 00 and No. 56 from Michael Waltrip Racing and the No. 47 from JTG-Daugherty Racing after finding unapproved modifications. The teams were made to change the windshields in each car and series director John Darby stated that penalties should be expected.

The windshields are supposed to be the same thickness, no changes at any point, the ones confiscated today showed areas with raised edges which can be an aerodynamic advantage to the given car.

Bobby Kennedy, the competition director for MWR, said the windshields were a result of poor fabrication on the team's part. Kennedy also said that all of the cars has to be rebuilt since the last ran and that is why all cars besides Waltrip's had the same issue.
