There is little doubt about it, 2011 has been the year of Tony Stewart. With four wins, Stewart is attempting to win the Sprint Cup championship as an owner/driver - something that has not been done since the days of Alan Kulwicki. Today though the accolades were not for Stewart but instead the man who makes all the calls each race, crew chief Darian Grubb.

Grubb was honored with the 2011 Wypall Wipers Crew Chief of the Year award today at Phoenix. The award is voted on by a panel of fellow crew chiefs, media and a representative from Wypall.

Grubb looks to coach Tony Stewart to his first championship since 2005. With just two races remaining, the team is just three points behind leader Carl Edwards and is looking to capitalize along with win the final round of the showdown next week at Homestead.
