NASCAR Fantasy Fusion: Texas style

This weekend has been quite eventful so far, and I'm quite sure the Sprint Cup race will not disappoint. Fortunately with three practices and qualifying to analyze we are in a much better position to know what the drivers have to work with particularly as we begin the race. Then it's up the crew chiefs and pit crews to make changes to keep up with the track. Track position and tires will be a factor this weeks too.

So here's what we know:

Top 10 in Final Practice
1 Kasey Kahne 185.912
2 Marcos Ambrose 185.656
3 David Ragan 185.446
4 Regan Smith 185.331
5 Jeff Burton 185.268
6 David Reutimann 185.217
7 Matt Kenseth 185.198
8 Carl Edwards 185.033
9 Tony Stewart 184.944
10 Greg Biffle 184.767

Combined Practice Speeds
1 Kyle Busch 192.225
2 David Stremme 189.076
3 Greg Biffle 188.997
4 Carl Edwards 188.991
5 Marcos Ambrose 188.743
6 Kasey Kahne 188.616
7 Tony Stewart 188.577
8 David Ragan 188.451
9 Matt Kenseth 188.159
10 David Reutimann 187.854

My initial pick decision is from Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. I'm going with Matt Kenseth because I have learned from past experience that when the No. 17 qualifies well (he'll start in third) and runs decently in practice he will be a force to be reckoned with. Tony Stewart would be my runner up choice. Kasey Kahne is looking pretty racy so I'd go with him too. I would then pick from Marcos Ambrose, Jeff Burton and David Reuitmann. If I had any David Ragan starts left I would activate him to complete my team. Since I don't I'm going with Trevor Bayne.

I can't wait to see how this one comes out! Enjoy the race. Feel free to leave your comments here or email me at ssfantasyracing@gmail.com.
