Joey Gase Signs With Go Green Racing for 2012 Season

Go Green Racing is pleased to announce Cedar Rapids Iowa native, Joey Gase, as driver of the No. 39 Ford Mustang for the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series and contender for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year title.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Gase said. “My family and I have worked hard to get to this point so it is very rewarding for it to come true. I feel confident that being in the seat every week will really help build some consistency and strong runs.”

Gase is no stranger to GGR. In his Nationwide début last year at Iowa Speedway, he battled to a top-twenty finish after running strong the entire race. After an impressive run, the eighteen year old went on to compete in four more races to finish the season off on a high note and prepare him for 2012.

“Those runs later in the year really helped build my confidence,” Gase said. “Most of the tracks we raced at were different than what I was used to, so to run well really makes me excited about the momentum and consistency that we can build as a team racing together every week.”

Crew Chief, Clinton Cram, and the entire No. 39 team are equally excited to have Gase behind the wheel of the No. 39 Ford Mustang.

“For a new team, I believe we accomplished a lot last year,” said Archie St. Hilaire, Team Owner of Go Green Racing. “The entire team enjoyed working with Joey. I think focusing on one full-time driver for the No. 39 car will really help us build consistency and put some strong runs together.”

Gase also looks forward to competing for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year title despite some tough competition.

“I really feel like we can hold our own in the Title hunt,” Gase said. “We have a great team, support (from Roush Fenway Racing), and now we just need to go out there and let our performance speak for itself. There has been a lot of expansion and changes in the offseason and I can’t wait for Daytona.”

In addition to Gase piloting the No. 39 Ford Mustang, Go Green Racing is also expected to announce in the coming weeks a rotation of drivers to compete in a second team entry. To prepare for 2012, the team is also taking part in a three day test at Walt Disney World Speedway in Bay Lake, Florida from January 9-11th to become acclimated with the new cars and personnel changes.
