Jason Bowles, former K&N West champion, signs with MacDonald Motorsports

Jason Bowles, the 2009 K&N West Series champion and winner of the 2011 Toyota All Star Showdown, is now a NASCAR driver with MacDonald Motorsports. Piloting the No.81 sponsored by American Majority/PledgeToVote.com. Bowles will be competing for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year honors. During the season, American Majority Racing will work hard to engage NASCAR fans during this crucial election year, getting them to register and “Pledge to Vote.”

The team unveiled the red, white, and blue car in Manhattan on Thursday morning on a FOX News national morning program.

Bowles has three Nationwide starts for Rusty Wallace Inc. during the 2011 season, including a 13th place finish at Montreal.

“I'm super excited about the opportunity with American Majority Racing and MacDonald Motorsports,” said Bowles. “I look forward to working with them all year and a successful 2012 season. I can't thank them enough for coming on board and the support they have shown so far leading up to Daytona; it's going to be an exciting year!”

“I think Jason is going to be an excellent fit for our team and our sponsor, American Majority,” explained Randy MacDonald, team owner. “He had an enormous amount of success running the K&N Pro Series and deserves a shot in Nationwide. I’m hoping to bring our team to the next level and compete for top-10 finishes this year with Jason, and that will be our goal on each race weekend.”

In a joint effort between American Majority and MacDonald Motorsports, the goal is to get fans excited about the 2012 election.  This effort will include the launch of www.pledgetovote.com which will also feature contests and ticket giveaways to NASCAR races throughout the 2012 racing season.

Another aspect of American Majority’s participation in the series will be their state-of-the-art display on vendor row which provides race fans the ability to register to vote, race iRacing simulators, play games, win prizes, and get their picture taken in front of an exact replica of the American Majority No. 81 car.

Bowles and the MacDonald Motorsports team are geared up and ready for the Drive4COPD 300, just 16 days away on February 25th. The race will be broadcast live on ESPN 2 at 1pm EST.
