Skirts and Scuffs announces enhancements for 2012 season

Introduces Matt Crafton driver diary, expands to INDY coverage & partners with Accessible Racing

Ashland, Ky. – NASCAR news website Skirts and Scuffs (S&S) is launching new enhancements to its site as it enters its third year of operation.

Changes to the site include:

  • Extending its motor racing coverage to the IZOD IndyCar Series. Skirts & Scuffs contributor Amy McHargue of Bedford, Ind., will serve as Chief IndyCar Correspondent.
  • Adding a guest driver diary series, which will be written in conjunction with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Matt Crafton. Titled “Riding Shotgun with Matt Crafton,” the column will provide insights on the sport as only a driver can do. The column will run monthly with extra coverage for wins and special announcements.
  • Partnering with Accessible Racing of Plymouth, N.H., which provides the world’s first ‘Arrive and Drive’ experience for disabled veterans and civilians. The two organizations will work together to enhance marketing and visibility. Accessible Racing will be reaching out to fans at selected tracks this season and will be launching a Virtual World Challenge online-gaming experience for global motorsport enthusiasts.
Skirts and Scuffs Associate Editor Amanda Ebersole of Lebanon, Pa., will be working with Accessible Racing to provide media exposure for both organizations. For Ebersole, it is a personal mission. Wheelchair-bound for nine years with a spinal cord injury, Ebersole is a passionate NASCAR fan who longs to know that stock car experience herself.

“Skirts and Scuffs has grown tremendously in its short history,” says Katy Lindamood of Ashland, Ky, Founder and Editor-in-Chief. “We are committed to adding enhancements and fine-tuning the site to continue to make it relevant to our subscribers and to cover motorsports with the professional demeanor it deserves,” she adds.

Launched in February 2010, Skirts and Scuffs (S&S) is a NASCAR news website staffed by all women contributors, editors and photographers from across the United States and Canada. Content includes race coverage, news, commentary, and interviews with drivers, as well as original columns. In 2011, the site was awarded NASCAR Citizen Journalist Media Corps status. S&S has had representatives present to cover the majority of 2011 NASCAR Cup events through original article content, social media exposure, and timely reporting on at-the-track news.
