Skirts and Scuffs Predictions: Brianne Clemons chooses the champ
It is officially my first season as a contributor and columnist with Skirts and Scuffs. With that comes the opportunity to share with you my picks for this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion. This is such a daunting task. Since I have no crystal ball that I can look deep into for answers, I have been forced to come up with them on my own. Here goes nothing!
Choosing my pick for the 2012 Sprint Cup Champion actually proved to be a simple task. Be prepared, though. It’s not who you may think.

I strongly believe that Kasey Kahne, Hendrick Motorsports' newest golden boy, will end this season with that beautiful trophy hoisted in the air. Yes, you read that right. I said Kasey Kahne.
Take a minute and think about it. He is already a great driver, but hasn’t quite felt stability with a team for a few years. Until now, that is. He is now settled at Hendrick Motorsports, has had quite a while to prepare for this move, and is becoming more comfortable every day. On top of all that, he also has more teammates now. Not only that, but he has a number of winning teammates. He is now part of a large team, with limitless opportunities. He has a community of advice and encouragement that he may not have had in the recent past.
Kahne has the drive, skill, and now the added opportunities needed to win a championship. There is no doubt in my mind that he will work harder this year than any year before. Kahne wants the Hendrick team to know they made the right choice with him. He is driven to show that his few wins in the past two years were not “flukes," in any way.
He is ready to truly prove himself and I am calling it now. This year is the year of Kasey Kahne.
