What stands out in this picture...Ingrid's shoes! Credit: Debbie Ross/Skirts and Scuffs |
Two weekends ago Skirts and Scuffs resident photographer, Debbie Ross, attended the races at Texas Motor Speedway, and boy did she get some great shots! She has shots of drivers, cars, and the speedway itself, and while she was there she was thoughtful enough to take look at some footwear around the track, and got some super cool pictures for me. Don’t get me wrong; I love heels, but I
love fashion in general, which means all kinds of shoes.
These are the type of shoes that are most popular around the track. I agree that sneakers are comfy, and if I am going to wear a pair, I like to make sure they are a cute style and color. There are so many different styles, colors and prints of the fashion sneakers like the ones in the picture, but athletic sneakers are also getting quite stylish.

I’m going to say that these wedges are a bit too much for me, especially at the track! They are definitely eye catching and I give this girl props for rocking those hot pink shoes. In my opinion, there are better places that these shoes could be worn.
This pair of heels is fierce. The black goes with lots of different things, and although they are not the ideal shoes for a day of walking, they will make you turn heads. If you can cruise around the track on a golf cart you’re golden.
These are perfect spring/summer wedges and sandals, if you want to wear heels, that is. They are both neutral colors that go with practically anything. You could get one or two “go-to” pairs like these, break them in and get used to them, and then a day at the track in these would be a piece of cake. You can’t just jump into a pair of heels for the first time and expect to go for days. I know from experience that it doesn’t work. They are just so cute that they’re worth it, but your feet will hate you for days afterward.
I bet many of you would never guess who is wearing these flat sandals. Samantha Busch wore these to the Tweetup. They totally went with her outfit, and this shows that you can be fashionable without wearing sky-high heels. I wear sandals like this a lot in the summer time. I especially like the detailing on these sandals of Samantha’s. One more hint ladies; the perfect thing to pair with any pair of sandals? A pedicure. These sandals wouldn’t look nearly as cute if Samantha’s toes weren’t painted.

This last pair is by far my favorite! They are so eye catching and bright. Jeff Gordon’s wife, Ingrid Vandebosch wore these on Sunday. I loved her complete outfit, but it was definitely the shoes that “stole the show.” This season there are bright colors everywhere, and they can be easily overdone in an outfit, but keeping it to one or two pieces is good.

It was so thoughtful of Debbie to think of me while she was at the racetrack. I was very excited when they arrived in my inbox. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for some stylish shoes in Charlotte next month! I’m sure most of you have already wore your sandals this year, and I hope the weather smartens up here for me; I can’t wait to get into my summer wardrobe. If not, Charlotte will be my chance. The countdown is on! What are some of your favorite styles of footwear for spring and summer, or at the track?
