One Million Thank You Cards

Few things in life make me sentimental these days. Aside from animals and children I rarely get teary-eyed, but on Monday night I sat in front of my computer with tears streaming down my face. The tears weren’t tears of sadness, but ones of pure joy. You see, Monday was the day that I never imagined would get here. It was the day that because of our loyal readers and fans, we hit the milestone of one million views on SkirtsandScuffs.com.

If I had the time, I’d sit down and write out one million thank you cards to those who have taken time to visit our site over the last 2 1/2 years. I’d find the prettiest stationary and write personal notes expressing my gratitude for your unwavering support. I’d use only the best for the best fans in all of racing and you’d know without a shadow of a doubt that you are the reason we do what we do. It’s the fans we are here to serve, because without you we are nothing.

Since I can’t write you all personal thank you cards or give you all a hug just for believing in us and our mission, this is my personal thank you. Thank you for for reading what our team of writers put out there. From our weekly recaps or the top teams to our original columns and exclusive interviews, our goal is to be the best at what we do and prove once and for all that not all female fans are the same. Thank you for your support of the site through monetary donations and through the listening of Skirts and Scuffs Happy Hour. Thank you to the tracks and long-standing members of the media for welcoming us into the fold and pointing us in the right direction. Thank you to each person who has liked the site on Facebook and who follows us on Twitter. Thank you to the former writers of the site who still continue to support us although we have parted ways, and thank you to everyone who has ever told a friend, relative, or co-worker about Skirts and Scuffs. We are forever in your debt.

I want to say thank you to the women of Skirts and Scuffs for believing in the dream, for believing in me, and for busting your asses to make this site what it is today. You ladies are the most amazing gift a person could ever ask for and I’m amazed every day at the sheer brilliance of your ideas and your unending generosity. You are all rock stars in my book and it’s because of you that we are what we are. Never forget that it’s your words that keep readers coming back time and time again.

One million views may not be a lot for some publications, but for an independently run website it’s outstanding and we are proud of this accomplishment. We hope that you’ll stand with us as we continue to grow and continue debunking the stereotypes often associated with female race fans.
