NNS Pole Report: Elliott Sadler wins pole at Iowa Speedway

While the Cup drivers prepared to rock and roll at the 2012 Sprint All-Star Race, the Nationwide Series drivers qualified at Iowa Speedway for the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250. Richard Childress Racing's Elliott Sadler snatched the top spot at the .875-mile track with a speed of 133.911, much slower than the track record time of 135.135 held by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. since August of 2009. Sadler's won 13 poles in his 174 Nationwide starts and this is his second of the year.

Stenhouse Jr. starts behind Sadler and second-place qualifier Sam Hornish Jr., with Michael McDowell, Justin Allgaier, Austin Dillon (fastest qualifying rookie), Brian Scott, Darrell Wallace Jr., Danica Patrick and Perker Kligerman rounding out the top ten.

Also of note, Travis Pastrana starts in 15th position in what will be his third Nationwide Series start, besting his previous efforts of 25th at both Richmond and Darlington.
