Joey Logano survives the Pocono 400 to claim 2nd career victory

Pocono Raceway is back and the Pocono 400 made a lasting statement. From Lap 1 we saw drama, crashes, a record 21 speeding penalties, fan favorites leading, what more can the fans ask for?

Jr. Nation was riding high, it appeared as though Dale Earnhardt Jr. was about to end his winless streak as he led three different times for a total of 36 laps. The fuel mileage fear bit Earnhardt and crew chief Steve Letarte, who chose to pit and be safe versus gambling and running out, having history repeat itself.

Joey Logano outlasted the Pocono problems and passed Mark Martin in the closing laps to claim his second career win. Martin slightly wobbled, Logano capitalized and made contact, bumping Martin to make the pass.

Beth Bence Reinke will recap more of Logano's win in this week's Gibbs Garage momentarily.

Pit road problems:

Pit road was the talk of the race as 18 drivers were ticketed for speeding penalties, some drivers clocked multiple times.

The list of drivers fined include a who's who of NASCAR: Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr., Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton and Kyle Busch. Brad Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson and Travis Kvapil both were busted twice.

Next week, the series heads to Michigan, another newly repaved surface.
