NSCS Pole Report: Biffle breaks the track record to nab pole at Charlotte

"It's a new track record!!!" Greg Biffle's lap around Charlotte Motor Speedway left him screaming with excitement, rightfully so. Taking time at 27.877 seconds, the Biff's lap clocked in at 193.708 mph. The previous track record of 193.216.has been held by Elliott Sadler since October of 2005. For the record, this is Biffle's first pole at Charlotte, his third of 2012 and 12th career pole position.
Mark Martin will start second when he takes the green flag for his 850th career start in NASCAR This is his 12th top-10 start of 2012.

Rounding out the top 10: Ryan Newman, Clint Bowyer, Jimmie Johnson, Martin Truex Jr, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Kasey Kahne.

Checking in with the seat swaps for this weekend, Regan Smith (No. 88 for Dale Jr.) will start in 26th, Kurt Busch's new ride at Front Row Racing has netted a 21st place starting position while AJ Allmendinger starts 38th in the No. 51.
