The Chase for the Sprint Cup continues this week when the Sprint Cup Series returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday night for the first time since May. With just five races left before the season concludes at Homestead-Miami on November 18, the stakes are higher than ever.

Matt Kenseth managed to avoid the carnage last week at Talladega and cross the finish line with the win. Things are looking up for Kenseth again this weekend as the driver won last year's Bank of America 500. Kenseth is currently last (12th) in the Chase standings.

Kasey Kahne, who currently sits fourth in points, won the first race at Charlotte earlier this season, and is looking at this race to move up in the points, closer to teammate Jimmie Johnson, who is currently second behind points leader Brad Keselowski. Their Hendrick teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not run at Charlotte due to a concussion sustained during a test at Kansas, made worse by his wreck at Talladega. Earnhardt Jr. is currently 11th.

Keselowski, the Sprint Cup Series points leader, has something to smile about - his past success at Charlotte. The driver won the Nationwide Series race here in the Spring.

The Camping World Truck Series takes a break until October 27 when they'll take the track again in the Kroger 200 at Martinsville.
