NNS Pole Report: Vickers to pace field after Vegas qualifying canceled

Due to persistent rain, NASCAR canceled all track activity Friday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Since Nationwide drivers were unable to practice Friday, NASCAR scrapped Saturday's qualifying session so the series drivers can get in practice time.

The starting lineup for the Sam's Town 300 is set by the NASCAR rulebook, which means the 2012 owner points determine the first 36 spots, with last four determined by attempts to qualify this year.

This puts Brian Vickers on the pole and Trevor Bayne on the outside pole. Rounding out the top 5 are Brian Scott, Austin Dillon and Ty Dillon.

Nationwide practice will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET on SPEED. The Sam's Club 300 remains at 4 p.m. ET as originally scheduled on ESPN2. Green flag is set for 4:31 p.m.
