Dover Aims for a Career-Best 20 Victories in 2013

SPRINGFIELD, Neb. –  Jack Dover has one focus this season: 20 victories.

“Because that’s a lot of wins for a driver at this level of competition,” he said. “My most wins in a season is 16, so I’m aiming for 20 wins this year.”

One down, 19 to go.

After picking up the win in his season debut on April 5 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., Dover followed that the ensuing night with a fifth-place finish in the ASCS Midwest Region event.

After a pair of top fives and finishing in the top two in both heat races, Dover is the points leader in the series.

“We’re not points racing,” the two-time defending ASCS Midwest champion said. “We are just running wherever we want and trying to win races.”

That continues this weekend as he heads to Missouri for a pair of ASCS Warrior Region events. On Friday, Dover will return to Valley Speedway in Grain Valley and he will wrap up the weekend on Saturday at Springfield Raceway in Springfield.
