Will Power scores second pole of the season

Will Power hopes he follows up his Verizon P1 Award with a win, since his wife's family is from Texas and he's afraid he may not be able to go home to supper if he doesn't.

The fiery Aussie bumped Marco Andretti off the provisional pole with a two-lap average speed of 219.182 mph. Andretti wasn't too upset though; he said they hadn't practiced qualifying so he was pleased with starting on the front row.

Andretti Autosport teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay starts third, with Dario Franchitti beside him.

Alex Tagliani, who hoped to go for three in a row at TMS, didn't have enough speed to top Power. Tagliani rolls off 16th.

Last week's winner of the second half of the Detroit double-header Simon Pagenaud and Simona De Silvestro both will serve 10-grid penalties.
