Video: Ford Sweepstakes rides again with Carl Edwards at wheel

July 30, 2013 marks the 150th birthday of Henry Ford and in advance of this milestone Carl Edwards was given the opportunity to drive the car that took Ford to victory in his only race, the Ford Sweepstakes. Edwards joined Dale Jarrett as the only two NASCAR drivers to ever sit behind the wheel this piece of automotive history.

Of the experience Edwards said, " This is the coolest car I have ever driven, no doubt about it. There isn't even a close second. It may not look like much standing here or on video, but I'm telling you that this is one of the scariest things I have ever done. Coming around that turn back there, there are no breaks. I don't know how those guys did that because we were only going what, eight miles per hour? They drove this thing near 70 mph back in 1901. That is just insane."

Check out the video of Edwards drive around the ground of Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford which was overseen by Ford's great-grandson, Edsel B. Ford II and Glenn Miller, Sweepstakes Engineer.
