Fast Facts: Ty Majeski

NASCAR Next member Ty Majeski has been quite busy in 2017: the Roush Fenway Racing development driver is competing part-time in both the ARCA Racing Series and the Xfinity Series, spending time on the ARCA Midwest Tour as well. Learn more about this up-and-coming driver in this week’s Fast Facts.

• Ty Majeski was born Aug. 18, 1994 in Seymour, WI. He began racing dirt karts at age 9 at Hi-Go Raceway in Cecil, WI, winning his first race on his 10^th birthday.
• By the time Majeski was 15, he had six national karting championships, three state championships and five track championships on his resume. In 2009, Majeski caught the eye of Bobby Waltrip, brother of Darrell and Michael, who arranged for an asphalt late model test for Majeski at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC).
• Majeski began racing limited late models in Wisconsin, earning the Rookie of the Year title in the Big 8 Late Model Series in 2011 before moving up to Super Late Models in 2012 and making his debut on the ARCA Midwest tour in 2013. In 2014, he won the ARCA Midwest Tour’s Rookie of the Year award and the first of four straight Midwest Tour championships (2014-2017).
• In 2015, Majeski was named one of seven finalists for the inaugural Alan Kulwicki Driver Development Program – participants were awarded $7,777 to develop their careers; he was named the first winner of the program after collecting 18 wins, 48 top 10 finishes and 19 poles in 56 races.
• After joining the team’s driver development program in May 2016, Majeski, who was taking Mechanical Engineering classes at UW-Madison, moved to Charlotte, NC in 2017 to work with Roush Fenway as an engineer. He made his first career Xfinity Series start for the team in June at Iowa Speedway.
• Majeski’s primary sponsor is iRacing.com, the online racing simulator; he is currently the No. 1 ranked iRacing.com player in the world.
