Spencer Boyd earned his first Gander Outdoors Series victory at Talladega Super Speedway after NASCAR officials declared Johnny Sauter forced the No. 51 of Riley Herbst below the yellow line in the closing laps.

"The first one you always dream of, since a little kid." Boyd said, "I've been a race fan for a long time and been racing since I was five."

"I've been driving the 20 most of the year. This deal came together pretty late to drive this Alabama Roofing Professionals Chevy this weekend. It was a total team effort. We worked really hard, the truck drafted really well."

Todd Gilliland finished second, Herbst finished third, and Brett Moffitt finished in the fourth position.

Stewart Friesen battled back from two penalties to round out the top five. Friesen and Moffitt were penalized early in the race for locking bumpers. Friesen was later issued another pass through penalty for speeding on pit road.

Harrison Burton finished 11th after spinning on Lap 10 of 94. The single car incident resulted in the first red flag of the afternoon for oil clean up.

Ross Chastain was leading on Lap 89 when he spun from behind by the No. 2 of Sheldon Creed. The multi-truck crash collected eight other drivers, including Natalie Decker, Bryan Dauzat, and Grant Enfinger.

Gus Dean made contact with Todd Gilliland, which sent the No. 12 into the inside wall of Turn 2. Dean suffered heavy damage from the hit, but exited under his own power.

A Look Ahead Into The Playoffs

The Gander Outdoors Truck Series head to Martinsville Speedway on October 26, 2019.

Tyler Ankrum and Chastain are on the outside looking in with two races remaining in the Round of 6. Ankrum is minus one point, while Chastian is minus two.

Sauter won the race one year ago. Can he find redemption or will a GOTS playoff driver cliché their way to a series championship?

Find out on Saturday, October 26th at 1:30 p.m./ET on Fox Sports 1.
