Daniel Suarez will drive for Trackhouse Racing Team in 2021

Daniel Suarez will be piloting the No. 99 Chevrolet for a new NASCAR Cup Series team in 2021. Trackhouse Racing Team is owned by former series driver Justin Marks, who competed on a limited schedule and earned his first NASCAR Xfinity Series win at Mid-Ohio in 2016. The race team will make its debut next year and have an alliance with Richard Childress Racing.

"The formation of a top-level NASCAR Cup Series team has been a dream of mine for a long time," Marks said. "A lot of hard work has transpired to get us to this point and I don't think we could've ended up with better partners in RCR and Chevrolet and with a more passionate and committed driver than Daniel Suarez."

The 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion was chosen to fill the vacant seat left by retired driver Carl Edwards in 2017 at Joe Gibbs Racing. He spent two years at JGR, then drove one year for Stewart-Haas Racing and is currently in the No. 96 for Gaunt Brothers Racing. Over the past four years in the top-tier series, he has competed in 138 races earning eight top-fives, 32 top-10s and two poles.

Suarez is optimistic and excited about competing with his new team next season. "You look to my career in the last few years, I haven't had consistency, and I feel like consistency in racing is something super important," he said. "If you can't have consistency, you cannot be successful. It was very important for me to know I'm going to have everything I need to be competitive and successful - not just next year but as well for what is after that."
