John Hunter Nemechek earned his fifth Camping World Truck Series victory of the season on Saturday, June 26th at Pocono Raceway, holding off team owner Kyle Busch by a 1.337-second margin of victory.

Nemechek led 12 of the 60 laps of the CRC Brakleen 150. He had the opportunity to pass Busch shortly after the final restart, when Stewart Friesen spun on Lap 52 to bring out the caution.

“These guys just work so hard,” Nemechek said of his team. “We never gave up. We weren‘t very good the first stage. Without this opportunity—without Kyle and Toyota, I wouldn‘t have had it. Five wins this year and beat Kyle—three for five against Kyle is pretty good odds.”

Busch finished second after hitting the wall from battling with Sheldon Creed, who finished third. Tyler Ankrum and Austin Hill rounded out the top five.

Hill clinched a spot into the CWTS Playoffs with his finish at Pocono. He is third in the standings, 106 points behind Nemechek, who is the leader.

Friesen sits ninth in the standings after finishing in the 33rd position. He is 15 points ahead of Carson Hocevar, who is in the final transfer position.
