NASCAR TV Schedule and Busch Light Clash Format: February 2nd - February 6th

The 2022 NASCAR season is officially here! The annual exhibition race gets a new home location this year at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The event has previously been held in Daytona since 1979.

The Busch Light Clash race format and schedule can be found below, giving you a chance to set your DVRs if you’re going to miss any of the action. All times are in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

The Busch Light Format


On Saturday, drivers will participate in practice and single-car qualifying to determine their heat race starting positions for Sunday. The driver with the fastest speed will start on the pole position in Heat 1, second-fastest speed will start on the pole in Heat 2, third-fastest starts first in Heat 3, fourth-fastest rolls off first in the fourth heat, and so on, filling each of the 10-car fields.

Sunday's heat races will be four 25-lap events. The top-four finishers in each heat race advance to battle in the main event, the 150-lap feature on Sunday night. Drivers who fail to qualify during their respective heat races will have a final shot during one of two Last Chance Qualifier races, which will be 50 laps each. The top three drivers in each LCQ race will advance.


The last position in the 23-car field will be reserved for the driver who finished highest in the 2021 standings, but who doesn’t transfer by their heat race or during the LCQ race.
