Corey Heim earned the first Camping World Truck Series victory of his career on Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, gaining the lead from teammate Chandler Smith on the final lap of the race.

Heim dove in front of Chandler Smith in Turn 1 of the 1.54-mile track and received drafting help from teammate John Hunter Nemechek.

“It‘s awesome — I was at the right place at the right time,” said Heim, a Georgia native, “Toyota Racing just helps us so much to get here and I’m just so glad to be here.”

“I‘ve got to give all the credit to John Hunter Nemechek for helping me out there. It‘s just surreal. Awesome.”

Nemechek was two laps down after earlier contact with the wall, but helped the No. 51 Toyota return to victory lane for the first since May 2021 at Kansas when owner Kyle Busch won. Nemechek finished in 24th place.

Ben Rhodes finished second and Ty Majeski finished third, while Chandler Smith and Zane Smith rounded out the top-five finishers.

A multi-truck accident on Lap 69 of 135 ended the day of Dean Thompson and Lawless Alan. They finished 33rd and 34th, respectively. Christian Eckes was also involved, but finished in the 16th position.

A Look Ahead

The Camping World Truck Series head to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, next Saturday, March 26th.

Two drivers who are looking to rebound are Matt DiBenedetto and Hailie Deegan. DiBenedetto finished 25th after smacking the wall on just the third lap of the Fr8 208, while Deegan sustained a cut tire at the end of Stage 1. Deegan’s Ford caught fire as she made it to pit road and she was pulled from the car. She was evaluated and released from the infield care center, finishing last.

Who will win at the Circuit of the Americas? Find out on March 26th at 1 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
