Trackin’ Trucks: Kyle Busch Wins at Atlanta

Kyle Busch earned his 65th career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory on Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. 

Busch, who was driving for Spire Motorsports after selling his team to the organization in 2023, held off Ty Majeski by a 0.187-second margin of victory.  

“I actually got a run on the 9 truck (Enfinger) down the backstretch,” Busch said of the pass for the win. “He must have been going flat down the backstretch and slowing down because it gave me — it sucked me up right to him. Then he got loose in the corner. I got loose in the corner. We all checked up trying not to crash.

“Thankfully, we didn‘t. I thought that was a big moment. But then we got the lead right there, and after that, it was about trying to protect it. Majeski was a bit of a wing man today. Appreciate him — and the history we‘ve had together growing up racing late models with him a lot in Wisconsin and around those parts.

“That was a lot of fun. Great to get Chevrolet to Victory Lane."

Busch led four times throughout the 135-lap event for a total of 33 laps. He inherited the lead for the final time on Lap 129 after the No. 9 Chevrolet of Grant Enfinger suffered a flat tire and was forced to pit with a handful of laps remaining in the Fr8 208. 

Majeski finished second after holding off a charging Corey Heim, who finished third. Taylor Gray and Nick Sanchez rounded out the top-five finishers. 

Kaden Honeycutt finished sixth, Tyler Ankrum finished seventh, Rajah Caruth overcame an early race issue to finish in the eighth position, while Daniel Dye and Dean Thompson finished in the ninth and 10th place positions, respectively.  

A Look Ahead 

The Craftsman Truck Series head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, March 1st. 

Kyle Busch won the race one year ago ahead of Zane Smith and Ben Rhodes.
