Trackin’ Trucks: Ty Majeski Wins at IRP

Ty Majeski secured his first win of the Craftsman Truck Series season on Friday night at the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Majeski was penalized for a restart violation after a caution caused by a Ty Dillion spin during Stage 1 of the TSport 200. By Stage 2 end, Majeski had battled back to the third position. 

The Thorsport Racing driver led the final 56 laps and earned the fourth victory of his career. 

It‘s huge,” Majeski said. “Obviously, I made a little bit of a mistake. It was probably a little bit of a close call on that restart. I had to pony up and get it back. Obviously, when you make a mistake as a driver, you drive a little bit harder to make up for it, but these guys had my back–awesome pit stops. 

“It‘s been an up-and-down year. We‘ve had the speed to win. Just haven‘t been able to put it together, had some bad luck along the way, some of it self-inflicted. But, man, so proud of this Road Ranger group.” 

Majeski secured the victory by a 4.129 margin-of-victory over Christian Eckes. Grant Enfinger finished third after leading the most laps of the night. Tyler Ankrum finished fourth, while Layne Riggs rounded out the top-five finishers. 

Sammy Smith finished sixth, Luke Fenhaus seventh. Rajuth Caruth started from the pole, the second of his career, but came home in eighth. Dean Thompson, and Nick Sanchez ended up ninth and 10th, respectively. 

A Look Ahead 

Only one race remains before the 2024 Craftsman Truck Series Playoff field is set. 

Eckes retains the points lead by 50 points over Corey Heim, who finished in the 17th position at IRP after early contact with Eckes. 

Tanner Gray, Daniel Dye, and Stewart Friesen are all competing for the final spot in the playoffs. Gray is 10th, while Dye is five points behind and Friesen is 16 points behind. 

The final race of the 2024 regular season will be the Clean Harbors 250 at Richmond Raceway on Saturday, August 10th at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
