Trackin’ Trucks: Grant Enfinger Wins at Talladega
Grant Enfinger earned his first Craftsman Trucks Series of the 2024 season, as he held off Taylor Gray by a 0.041-second margin-of-victory at Talladega Super Speedway.
Enfinger was all smiles on the front stretch as he recalled his missteps of the first round of the series playoffs, celebrating his victory that will allow him to compete for the series championship at Phoenix next month.
“We didn‘t make all the perfect decisions today, but we had a Champion Power Equipment Chevy that was fast enough to get it done today, so even though we chose the outside [lane for a restart] once or twice and maybe we shouldn‘t have. … it‘s just Talladega right there and hopefully all the fans enjoyed it.”
“There‘s nothing like winning at your home track. Got my family here and first win with my daughter and my son here. On top of that, we get to race for a championship in Phoenix.‘‘
Taylor Gray finished second, Daniel Dye finished third, while Rajah Caruth and Lawless Alan finished fifth.
Christian Eckes finished sixth, Ryan Reed finished seventh, while Stefan Parsons, Bret Holmes, Spencer Boyd rounded out the top 10.
It was an eventful race that featured three cautions for wrecks, including during the final laps of the Love’s RV Stop 225.
Dye and Tyler Ankrum collided on the final lap, which ended the event, giving Enfinger his second career win at the track.
A Look Ahead (Into the Playoffs)
The Craftsman Truck Series have the next two weeks off and return to Homestead-Miami Speedway on October 26th.
Corey Heim leads the standings over Eckes by one point, leaving Ty Majeski, Caruth, Taylor Gray, Nick Sanchez, and Ankrum fighting for their place to be eligible at Phoenix for the championship.
Don’t miss the Trucks on Saturday, October 26th at 12 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
