Trackin’ Trucks: Stewart Friesen Wins at Michigan
Stewart Friesen survived the chaos of multiple wrecks at the end of the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 at Michigan international Speedway to earn his first series victory of the 2025 season.
The win snapped a 72-race winless streak for Friesen, who came off three overtime restarts to complete the event.
“I don‘t know what to say, thank you to Chris, Halmar and all these sponsors and all these race fans,” Friesen said during his celebration. “I know there’s a lot of Canadians, there’s a lot of Americans, everybody’s having a good time together and that’s what it’s all about.”
Grant Enfinger finished second, while Luke Fenhaus, Ben Rhodes, and Corey LaJoie finished third through fifth place, respectively.
The leaders wrecked during a restart with five laps remaining during Saturday’s event. It took out leading contenders Ross Chastain and Corey Heim, as well as collecting Daniel Hemric and Lawless Alan.
Carson Hocevar was a fighting favorite and avoided the disaster, however the Spire Motorsports driver was penalized by NASCAR for pulling out of line too early on the following restart.
He led 56 laps and finished in the 11th position.
Matt Crafton finished sixth for his third top-10 finish of the season, Jake Garcia finished seventh, while Chandler Smith, Andres Perez, and Layne Riggs rounded out the top ten.
A Look Ahead
The Craftsman Truck Series has a bye week next week, while the NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series head to Mexico City. It will be the first time the Cup Series has had a points-paying race outside the United States since the 1950s when it was the Grand National Series.
Heim extended his championship lead by an additional 10 points over Chandler Smith, for an overall lead of 133 points.
Hemric sits third, while Enfinger and Tyler Ankrum complete the top five.
Ben Rhodes and Giovanni Ruggiero sit 11th and 12th in the standings, nine and 10 points, respectively, behind Friesen, who holds the final place in the standings.
The Trucks will return at Pocono Raceway on Friday, June 20th at 5 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
