The eero 250 at Richmond Raceway was a fitting close to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular season. Eight drivers, led by regular season champion Corey Heim, knew what their Playoff fate was when the green flag flew. The rest of the field set their sights on those two remaining postseason berths.

Throughout the night, fans were treated to three-wide, and sometimes four-wide, racing under the lights as well as a primer on tire management.

While it was no surprise that Heim would spend the night racing up front, what we didn’t know was that Ty Majeski was going to make him work for it. Early on it looked like Ben Rhodes was going to make a play for the win as well.

At Lap 75, Rhodes missed his pit stall and had to make an additional pit stop on the next lap. He ultimately recovered but finished the race in eighth, missing the Playoffs by one place.

The race also featured a stellar performance by Kaden Honeycutt, piloting the No. 52 truck of Stewart Friesen, who announced that he wouldn’t seek a medical waiver to retain his eligibility for the NCTS Playoffs. The No. 52 is now competing for the Truck Series Owner’s Championship.

Honeycutt is eligible to compete for the driver’s championship in the No. 52 since he hadn’t missed a race but instead was released by Niece Motorsports due to signing with a different team and manufacturer for 2026.

Majeski‘s drive for the race win was sidelined at Lap 199 when Matt Crafton slid into Majeski’s No. 98 truck after slipping on oil on the track. At that point Majeski had led143 laps. After track cleanup and pit stops, the race restarted with 36 laps to go. Sammy Smith stayed on the track after the caution. The race continued with Smith, Heim and Majeski racing 1, 2, 3.

Heim retook the lead with 18 laps to go and put an exclamation point on his season with his seventh win. Majeski finished second, with Smith, Riggs and Corey LaJoie completing the top five.

Heim acknowledged Majeski’s dominance during post-race interviews.

“Ty had a dominant car most of the night," Heim said. "The wreck he was in definitely slowed him down. I’m very proud of Tricon Garage for staying in it. To get a win here definitely means a lot."

The Truck Series Playoffs begin Saturday, August 30 at Darlington Raceway with Heim, Layne Riggs, Chandler Smith, Daniel Hemric, Tyler Ankrum, Rajah Caruth, Grant Enfinger, Majeski, Honeycutt and Jake Garcia vying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship.
