"Tide Ride" Returns to NASCAR

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (February 8, 2010) — Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) announced today Procter and Gamble along with retail partner Kroger Food Stores will feature their family of brands across the sheet metal of four-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday’s No. 33 Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway as well as serve as the primary sponsor on Kevin Harvick’s No. 2 Chevrolet for both Martinsville (Va.) Speedway Truck Series events in 2010. The familiar yellow, blue, and orange circle will adorn the hood and quarter panels along with Kroger Food Stores and Procter and Gambles other featured brands, Bounce, Iams, Pringles, Charmin, Bounty and Downy.

Tide has a storied history in NASCAR as a sponsor going all the way back to their days with Darrell Waltrip. Who better than to continue on that legacy than 2007 Daytona 500 winner Harvick and four-time Truck Series champion Hornaday

“It is going to be pretty cool to see those bright orange colors back on a race track,” said Hornaday. “My firesuit even looks like Darrell’s used to. I’m excited to be able to compete for Procter and Gamble and Kroger Food Stores. They have continued their support of KHI over the past few years and I am excited to have them on the No. 33 truck. We can’t wait to get to Bristol and build on my finish there last year.”

Procter and Gamble’s Key Account Manager Robin Bennett experienced the thrill of victory lane last spring. He understands the history and importance of aligning the famous Tide colors with Harvick and his organization.
“I’m so proud of what we accomplished last year, said Bennett. “Winning the race in Martinsville is a memory that I will never forget! What a great partnership we have with Kroger and the KHI team. We are excited to ride the “Tide” right into victory lane!”

Tim Plogger, Assistant Grocery Merchandiser with Kroger Food Stores echos Bennett’s sentiments.
“Kroger is proud of the relationship we have developed between our partner, Procter and Gamble and Kevin Harvick Incorporated. This relationship has opened the doors for our stores to offer unique products and promotions, centered around KHI’s Racing Program. We look forward to great sales promotions focused around KHI and several of their sponsor partners in 2010.”

KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will also have the opportunity to climb behind the wheel of the Tide ride in 2010 at both Martinsville (Va.) Speedway Truck Series events.

“Having the opportunity to bring the Tide colors back to the track as a primary sponsor is an honor for KHI,” said
Harvick. “I had good success in the Truck Series last year winning my first Truck race in Martinsville last spring while carrying Procter and Gamble and Kroger colors. I’m ready to get back to short-track racing and bring Tide back to victory lane. Who knows maybe I’ll even try the Icky Shuffle.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season kicks off February 12, 2010 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
