Nashville team brings attention to disaster in community
In the wake of the flood that hit the Nashville area last weekend, Nashville-based NASCAR Nationwide Series team Baker Curb Racing announced on Wednesday that its No. 43 entry, driven by Scott Lagasse Jr., will don an American Red Cross paint scheme for Friday night's Royal Purple 200 at Darlington Raceway in an effort to draw attention to the natural disaster that hit Music City. Also, the team's No. 27 Nationwide car, to be driven this weekend by Greg Biffle, will carry the Red Cross symbol on its C post.
"I just moved into a place in Nashville about a month ago, so I saw firsthand the devastation that the flooding caused to the city and the surrounding areas," Lagasse said. "Many people were affected by the flooding, including employees of our team."
