Truex captures pole for Autism Speaks 400

Martin Truex Jr. won the pole position for Sunday's Autism Speaks 400 presented by Hershey's Milk and Milkshakes at Dover International Speedway. This is his first pole with Michael Waltrip Racing.

Truex ran the fastest lap of 157.315 mph, 22.884 seconds in Friday's qualifying session. This is his fifth Sprint Cup Series pole and his first at Dover. Truex's single victory in the series came at the spring race in 2007.

Kasey Kahne will start on the outside pole.

Casey Mears, who is standing in for Brian Vickers in the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota, qualified 39th. Vickers was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs and legs this week and is undergoing treatment. He will not race until further notice.
